Set of Six Danish Razorblade Oak Dining Chairs by Henning Kjaernulf

A set of six dining chairs designed by Henning Kjærnulf, crafted in solid oak and dating from the 1960s. The chairs display many of the designer's hallmark characteristics, combining traditional Danish craftsmanship with a distinctive decorative sensibility. The sculptural ladder-back design features shaped crest rails with rhythmic cut-out detailing, creating a strong visual identity while maintaining an elegant, balanced form.

The frames are executed in beautifully grained oak with a warm honey-toned finish that highlights the natural character of the timber. Turned front legs and subtly shaped aprons lend the chairs a refined, almost provincial character, reflecting Kjærnulf's ability to reinterpret historic furniture forms through a distinctly Scandinavian lens.

The generously proportioned seats have been upholstered in a vibrant mustard-yellow fabric, providing a striking contrast to the oak frames and adding a touch of mid-century colour. Robust and highly decorative, these chairs work equally well around a dining table or as occasional seating throughout the home.

Henning Kjærnulf remains one of the most sought-after Danish designers of the period, celebrated for furniture that bridges the gap between rustic craftsmanship and sophisticated modern design.

Good vintage condition with minor age-related wear to the oak frames. The upholstery is clean and presents well, with light wear consistent with age and use. A well-preserved set with an attractive patina throughout.
