Set of Six Danish High Back Pine Dining Chairs

A set of six pine dining chairs designed by Niels Kofoed and produced in Denmark by Glostrup Møbelfabrik, showcasing the clean lines and sculptural simplicity associated with Scandinavian modern design.

Each chair is crafted from solid pine, with the warm tone of the timber highlighting its natural knots and grain. The most distinctive feature is the tall, shaped backrest which softly tapers to form an elegant silhouette. A subtle cut-out at the lower back lightens the design visually while also providing comfortable support.

The seats with their original upholstery are gently rounded at the front edge, resting on a simple, well-proportioned frame with straight legs joined by stretchers for strength and stability.

Dating from the late 20th century, the chairs reflect the practical craftsmanship and natural materials typical of Danish furniture making. Their sculptural high backs and honest construction give them a distinctive presence, making them well suited to a dining room or kitchen where they can bring a touch of Scandinavian character and warmth to the interior.
